Meet the Therapist
Hi, Iām Julia! I am an occupational therapist (OTR/L) specializing in lymphedema, swelling, and recovery care. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Exercise & Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2021, followed by my Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Boston University in 2024ā ranked the number one occupational therapy program in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
I am licensed to practice occupational therapy in New York State and completed my Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) training through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy in March 2025.
Clinically, I work in outpatient care at Northwell Health, where I specialize in breast cancer rehabilitation and lymphedema management. I also provide in-home lymphedema services through Home Health agencies and have experience treating lymphedema in inpatient and skilled nursing rehabilitation settings in and around the three boroughs.
I am deeply passionate about this work because swelling is often misunderstood, overlooked, or minimized, despite its significant impact on comfort, function, body image, and quality of life. My goal is to bridge the gap between medical care and restorative support, offering thoughtful, evidence-based treatment that helps people feel more at ease, empowered, and confident in their bodies.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy walking down the West Side Highway with my dog, Baker, reading thriller novels, and strength training at the gym, interests that reflect my belief in balance, resilience, and the importance of caring for both body and mind.
